Just the Shantel part:

New cast member Shantel VanSanten, who plays the photographer Quinn, called the show’s Middle America appeal its very staying power. “I’m from Minnesota, and both my grandma and my friends can watch the show and relate to the issues because most of it is about real life — just not real life in L.A. or New York.”

Robert Buckley Mentions Shantel
Post a comment [3]. Published by Holly. Filed in Articles & Interviews.

From PopWrap’s interview with Rob:

PW: Do you think Clay’s female conquests have something to do with that?
Robert: I owe a lot of credit to the ladies of the show for that one. A little shoutout right there to Shantel [VanSanten] and Janna and all the other pretty ladies who have enabled Clay to be the little playboy. People always ask: “Are you and Clay similar?” And the one thing I always say is I’ve never just gone into a bar and had random, gorgeous women walk up and throw themselves at me — for no reason in particular. I would not mind that, that would be tremendous. But Clay’s world, uh, his love life, [is] definitely nothing like Rob’s love life. [laughs]

PopWrap: Speaking of Shantel, it seems like there is a brewing romance between her character, Quinn James (Haley’s older sister who also just arrived to “OTH”) and Clay. What do you think will happen with them down the line?
Rob: I love what they’ve done with relationships so far. It’s cool because with Clay, with the way we see him, he’s always on. You know, he’s always sort of in work mode or taking care of, things. You know, we never really get to see like what’s this guy like at the end of the day or when he’s by himself? But with Quinn, she’s the first person who he seems to have opened up to and let in. And they’re both going through their own personal struggles and found kind of a common ground in each other and I love that, I think that’s really great.

Simone in Cairo, Ill. I love the new character Quinn on One Tree Hill!
We just chatted with Shantel VanSanten (Quinn) this morning, and she couldn’t have been nicer–or more grateful for her new role in the tiny town of Tree Hill. And guess what? She’s married to a castmember in real life! Not Robert Buckley, but Jackson Brundage. That’s right, the adorable little Jamie Scott developed an instant crush on the new OTH star and took it to the next level. “He proposed to me on set when they brought me my wedding ring. Jackson got down on one knee and said ‘Will you marry me?’ He always calls me his wife and makes me eat lunch with him.” Too. Cute. Check back for more real scoop from our interview soon.

BuddyTV Interviews Shantel

One of the fresh new faces of One Tree Hill season 7 is Shantel VanSanten as Quinn, Haley’s older sister. Joining the show this late isn’t easy to start with, and gets even more complicated when there’s a complicated family tree to understand.

I spoke to Shantel about how she got prepared for the role, her sisterly bond with Bethany Joy Galeotti, and whether Quinn will hop straight into bed with Clay now that she’s left her husband. Continue reading »

The Complex 7

You shouldn’t need any extra incentive to go watch The Final Destination (in 3-muthafuckin’-D!) today, but allow us to give you one: Shantel VanSanten. The 24-year-old actress is poised for a breakthrough this year with Destination and the oft-delayed (but long-awaited) release of her Mischa Barton lesbian love story, You and I.

As a former model (and contestant on the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Model Search reality show), Shantel is certainly comfortable in front of the camera—peep our August/September Hot Complex shoot if you need proof. But Shantel is equally at ease answering questions, which is why we had no problem getting her to open up for The Complex 7. Read on to discover her favorite rap album, comfort food, and the female crush we have in common…

Two New Interviews

Here are two new interviews with Shantel, from IESB.net and teenhollywood.com respectively.

With The Final Destination, the fourth film in the popular franchise, horror fans will get an especially vivid thrill ride, as death is now in 3-D.

On what should have been a fun-filled day at the races, Nick O’Bannon (Bobby Campo) has a horrific premonition in which a bizarre sequence of events causes multiple race cars to crash, sending flaming debris into the stands, brutally killing his friends and causing the upper deck of the stands to collapse on him. Nick then panics, persuading his girlfriend, Lori (Shantel VanSanten), and their friends, Janet (Haley Webb) and Hunt (Nick Zano), to leave mere seconds before his frightening vision becomes a terrible reality.

Thinking they’ve cheated death, the group believes they’ve been given a second chance, until Nick’s premonitions continue and the crash survivors begin to die, one by one. Nick soon realizes that he must figure out how to escape death before it’s too late.

At the film’s press day, Bobby Campo and Shantel VanSanten told IESB what it’s like to be faced with death, while making a movie. read more at the source

You’ve probably lived this. You and your date go out with another couple and head for some fun attraction like an amusement park or a race. It’s exciting and an adrenalin rush. But, what if something went terribly wrong? What if the roller coaster went off the tracks or the race cars jumped the protective fence? These are the kinds of questions that power the domino-effect Final Destination films to big box office. Now, you can see the latest installment in 3-D!

We sat down with two “couples” from the film to find out their scariest moments while filming, what they would do if death were stalking them, what it was like working in 3-D, doing some crazy stunts and actually having fun midst the crazy kills and gore. Good times!

For our Beverly Hills interview, the dark-haired actresses were looking very Hollywood glam and the guys were very crisply stylish. Picture cute Bobby Campo in slacks and blue dress shirt with white collar and his girl in the film Shantel VanSanten in a beige lace dress topped with cropped black leather jacket. Hot Nick Zano wore black pants and a dark dress jacket over a dark gray tee. His counterpart Haley Webb matched his look in a dark silver dress. Let’s talk horror and what’s next for these hot young actors…. read the rest at the source

Beautiful ex-model Shantel VanSanten began her acting career with a series of TV movie roles in 2005’s “Three Wise Guys”, 2006’s “Savage Spirit”, and 2007’s “Spellbound”.

After a few big-screen movie roles in “In My Pocket” and “The Open Door”, VanSantel was cast in a starring role in the latest member of the Destination franchise “The Final Destination”.

The actress also has a recurring role in the still popular TV series “One Tree Hill”. Paul Fischer caught up with her in this exclusive interview.

Shantel VanSanten: A Back Stage Exclusive
Post a comment. Published by Holly. Filed in Articles & Interviews.

“I’m like super-clumsy and weird and funny and dorky,” says the outstandingly named Shantel VanSanten. While she attended an all-girls Catholic high school, there are no nunneries in this young woman’s future.

She’s starring in Warner Brothers’ “The Final Destination” opening this Friday, and on the CW’s “One Tree Hill” this fall. She was discovered at the mall in a story that is pure Hollywood fable, but in spite of all this early success, Shantel emanates a genuine kindness and humility that immediately wins you over. Looks like all those Hail Marys didn’t go to waste.

Chosen as this week’s Girl2Watch, Shantel will be featured in a series or articles, fun facts and social media tweets through this week for subscribers of Girl2Watch.com.

In this BackStage “Actor2Watch” exclusive, Shantel shares her thoughts on acting and getting roles.

Back Stage: What was your first break as an actor?

Shantel VanSanten: My first break was a movie on the USA Network around Christmas time called “Three Wiseguys” and I had like 6 lines in it.

BS: How did you get your SAG card?

SVS: Geez what did I do? I did a Clean & Clear commercial. I did a series of them. I used to be the Clean & Clear girl!

BS: How did you make the transition from model to actress?

SVS: I signed with the Page Parks Modeling Agency, and within like a month I had booked my first job, and I was working just doing like catalog stuff. And it’s kind of what opened the door for me into the acting world too because they were so supportive about it. They were the ones who put me in acting classes and I was like, “I don’t know. I’ve always done theater, but I don’t know how I feel about acting.” And they really pushed for me.

This is completely what my passion is, but I never understood I could make it into a career. They’re the people that opened up a lot of the doors and I guess who founded me. I’m really grateful for them because if I hadn’t have been for like their influence and pushing me and opening doors and showing me opportunities, I don’t know if I’d be here.

BS: Is there anything that you wish you could tell someone who is just starting out in acting?

SVS: Just believe in yourself, honestly. Because that’s all that it takes. If you believe in yourself somebody will find you that believes in you just as much, if not more.

Shantel Featured In Complex!

Shantel will be featured in Complex Magazine’s August/September issue! Check out the pictures and interview below.

If you’re looking for a chick to hang out with your boys and laugh at all your dick jokes, Shantel VanSanten may be your dream woman. The star of August’s The Final Destination and this fall’s girl-on-girl heavy You and I (opposite Mischa Barton) is the self-described “goofiest person ever” and doesn’t shy away from a little locker room talk. Which is great for all of us. But don’t get it twisted—when the 24-year-old Minnesota native and former swimsuit model says she’s “one of the guys,” she’s lying. You’ll know what we mean when you see her in 3-D.

What’s the weirdest thing about being in a 3-D flick?
Shantel VanSanten: The way that they shoot it, they have two cameras with the right eye and one with the left and they converge and it comes out in one image. It’s actually over a million dollars for each camera. That part of it was really cool, but the sex scene I had was a little bit weird.

Yeah, most of the sex we have is a little bit weird too. What’s the 3-D version like?
Shantel VanSanten: I just wanted to know what it looks like. I think my ass in 3-D would be really interesting. [Laughs.] I did a movie in Russia with Mischa Barton, and that had a love scene in it too.

Ah, yes, the scene with Mischa. We’re looking forward to that one.
Shantel VanSanten: We spent about five months shooting, and one day they were like, “OK, now we’re gonna shoot a sex scene in a rotating bed!” It was more of a scene about love than softcore porn. Love is love in my mind; we’ve all experimented, and it’s no big deal.

Mischa’s a little more experienced with that, though—she kissed Olivia Wilde on The O.C. Did you feel any pressure to be a better kisser?
Shantel VanSanten: No, I know I am, it’s all good. [Laughs.] Just kidding! They actually made fun of Mischa ’cause she’s had a lot of lesbian scenes. They said she’d better be good—it was her second one, and only my first.

So when you’re not kissing girls, what type of dudes do you like?
Shantel VanSanten: I like people who are spontaneous and super goofy because I’m probably the goofiest person ever, like a 4-year-old in a 24-year-old girl’s body. I’m definitely immature. Guys are always telling me I’m like a guy because we’re always talking about sex or penises.

If the guys you hang out with are always talking about penises, then my competition isn’t as stiff as I thought. Wait, I mean…
